Department of Botany offers the B.Sc. and M.Sc. Botany Program which are designed with an aim of encouraging the broad instructional goals and to support the growing demands and challenging trends in the educational scenario. The curriculum caters to the all-round development of the student, preparing globally ready individuals into the fast pacing world.
It is a well-established department for its teaching and research activities since 2019. The faculty members have broad areas of specialization in various fields i.e. Ecology, Palaeobotany, Taxonomy, Palynology, Mycology and Plant Pathology. A few activities are conducted at the end of each semester which are relevant to the topics covered. Algal collections, mushroom cultivation, visits to tissue culture labs, plant collection trips, project works, maintenance of plant diversity on campus are few of the activities. These activities enable the students to study the subject outside the classroom environment.

To Inculcate the students with scientific temperament, environmental awareness & prepare them to face challenges in life.
Future Perspectives:

Yearly field excursion/ study tour to the students of each semester to get familiarized with the basic concepts and techniques of plant collection.

Extension of herbarium with the help of students to generate keen interest amongst them to take up taxonomy for their higher studies.

Development of Botanical garden to increase the green cover area of the college campus.
