The Department of Chemistry stands for excellence in chemical education and research. It has a strong record of achievement in chemical science and technology research with the support of a dynamic team consisting of teaching staff, non-teaching staff, project fellows and inspired research students. The areas covered under the department’s teaching include fundamental chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, and the related technological extensions.
The admission to any courses is strictly based on Merit & Written test/interview Courses in the Department follows semester system, which includes regular seminars, assignments, periodical tests, practical and research work as part of curriculum. This Department from the very beginning has strived hard for quality teaching and research and have played significant role in the field of spreading the scientific knowledge among the students who are placed in good positions in the field of academics, Industry, R&D and in National & international institutions etc.
The department not only organizes various guest lecture series by eminent scientists/professors for P. G. students but has also conducted several seminars, symposia, workshops, and refresher courses. Officials from various pharmaceutical companies are invited to the Department for campus recruitment of final semester PG students as chemists.
