ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
M.A, Ph.D
DR. SANJEEV SAINI
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
M.A., Ph.D
The staff at the department of Economics is made up of two assistant professors. The department of Economics abandons the conventional "Lecture Method" of instruction and forbids teacher-centered approaches to instruction in favour of an innovative approach known as the Interaction Method with Discussion. Here, the teacher acts as the classroom facilitator and puts the focus on the students. To effectively motivate students to move from general to specific and from specific to general knowledge, themes must be developed using pertinent examples and by utilising the resources and references that are readily available.
Evaluation is done at two levels.
a. Internal evaluation
b. External evaluation
Internal evaluation is being done in every stage of learning in the classroom itself with frequent interactions while teaching. The university has fixed 25 marks as an internal assessment for BA and 20 for MA. It is assessed for 75% of attendance, assignment, and test. A unit test is also conducted to assess the learning level of students. External Evaluation is conducted by the university as a theory examination. (75 marks for B.A. and 80 marks for M.A./paper.)
